Why am I running?

I am seeking re-election because I care deeply about the future of Eden Prairie Schools and the important role our district plays in the success of both our students and our community.

As the parent of three EP graduates, a current senior, and serving in my seventh year on the board, I have seen firsthand the opportunities our schools provide and the challenges we must navigate to maintain the high standards our community expects. During my time on the board, I have focused on promoting student achievement while ensuring the district remains financially responsible and well-positioned for the future.

Eden Prairie has earned a strong reputation for academic excellence, outstanding educators, and community support. I want to continue building on those strengths while keeping our focus where it belongs: preparing students for success.

If re-elected, I will continue advocating for rigorous academics, safe and welcoming schools, responsible financial management, and meaningful opportunities that help students prepare for life after graduation. Effective school board leadership requires listening, collaboration, transparency, and a willingness to work through difficult issues with respect. My approach has always been guided by common sense, careful consideration of the facts, and a commitment to finding solutions that serve students and the broader community.

What are my top priorities?

My campaign is centered on two priorities: maintaining academic excellence and expanding pathways for student success after high school.

First, strong academic performance must remain at the heart of everything we do. Every student deserves access to excellent teachers, challenging coursework, and the support needed to reach their full potential. Our goal should be to ensure students graduate prepared to pursue their chosen path with confidence.

Second, I believe there is no single definition of success after high school. While many students choose a four-year college, others pursue careers in the skilled trades, technical fields, military service, apprenticeships, or industry certification programs. Each of these pathways provides valuable opportunities, and our schools should continue helping students explore options and develop a plan that fits their goals and talents.

Achieving these priorities requires thoughtful leadership, sound decision-making, and strong partnerships among families, educators, students, and community members. I am committed to listening to different perspectives, finding common ground, and keeping students at the center of every decision.

By maintaining high standards and supporting multiple pathways to success, we can ensure every Eden Prairie student graduates prepared, confident, and ready for whatever comes next.
